Old Friend, New Baby

I love when I get to spend time with special people I don’t get to see all the time and I REALLY love when I get to photograph special moments for them. My parents have been besties with Dana and Shane since the beginning of time. Five months after I was born, Dana and Shane welcomed their son, Michael, who was destined to be my first friend. We always had a blast together growing up, with my favorite traditions being our annual family beach trip or when our dads took us to the Alachua County Fair every year (is that ACR enough for you??).

I was obviously thrilled when I learned Michael and his amazing wife, Rebekah, are expecting! I was even more thrilled when I was asked to take their maternity pictures when they were in town for the holidays! With their only request to have Spanish moss in some of their photos, La Chua trail instantly popped into my head. I’ve always wanted to shoot here, but somehow never have before!

The Spanish moss was plentiful and true old Florida provided the most gorgeous of backgrounds. We even had a gator photobomb us near the end of the session, just to ensure we got the full experience.

Rebekah was absolutely gorgeous and was such a champ, as I walked them all over God’s green earth in order to make the most of our time together during prime golden hour. We ended our evening with a perfect Prairie sunset. Enjoy some of my favorites from this session.
