When creating my vision for this session, I knew I wanted a clean, studio look with pops of warm yellows and gold. I was telling a friend that I always have associated Andi with yellows and gold and never really knew why. Even in her newborn pictures, I threw her in a mustard yellow onesie. After giving it some thought, I think that’s because she has been such a beam of sunshine since she joined our family. Her little dimples, squawks, giggles, and pleasant demeanor make me love her more and more every single day.
She loves no one more than her brother and they’ve started really enjoying each other and playing (wrestling) every chance they can. She can hold her own and can hang with the big kids (if they’ll let her). Her second love would be her lovey and thumb, those two are an inseparable pair. The second her little chubby fingers touch her lovey, her thumb goes in her mouth. Even if she’s still thumb-sucking in college, it will be worth it because it is the sweetest thing right now – not to mention, convenient.
Andi has taken many steps but usually likes a full cheer squad in place before she tries. In the meantime, she gets anywhere she needs to go with the help of her rolling bumblebee toy. If you blink, she’s either in the fireplace playing in the ashes or pulling moss out of the faux plant. Getting dirty is a favorite pastime, which is fine, because she loves her daily dips in the tub. No matter the day’s plans, Andi is most likely dressed for a runway because dressing a little girl has been WAY more fun than I expected. With enough bribery, I can get a few strands of hair in two little pigtails, which match her two little teeth in her mouth.
Her first words were either “Bud Bud” or “mama,” with many more on the way. We’ve called her Peep, because she never made one, since the day she was born, but she has found her voice and uses it for enthusiastic babbling, excitable screams and trying to get Rhett’s attention.
Thank you for allowing me to capture this snapshot in time because the internet is forever and never want to forget this chaos. Happy birthday, Andi! Love you to the sun and back!
