About a month ago, my husband and I were sharing our usual fast-paced, pre-work breakfast time and in passing he brought up a house that he noticed for sale that caught his eye. He mentioned this cautiously because we had just spent a year living in squalor while he renovated just about every square inch of our home (for the second time) while I was 5434357 months pregnant. I had zero interest in even entertaining the idea of nailing a picture on the wall, let alone packing up our newly renovated home that contained our blood (mostly his), sweat (mostly his) and tears (mostly mine).
He went off to work and I was feeling nosey so I picked up my phone and found the home I thought he was talking about- and shockingly, really liked it. The longest story ever made short (you can thank me later for sparing you), we ended up making an offer and prepared to sell our home for five seconds before deciding to not move forward on the deal.
We can't say we didn't get anything out of the disappointing process, because it forced me to deep clean our home (with so much help from my mom and grandmother!) and get it HillyLily ready for listing pictures! Now that we are not listing it, I figured everyone loves a good makeover story so for your viewing pleasure, here are some before and afters of our home. Still in disbelief that my husband transformed this home with his own two hands and an ambitious vision. His hard work and undeniable talent took this neglected, dated, pretty gross house and made it into our lovely home.
