Little Engagement on the Prairie

Things I love:

  1. Family

  2. Friends

  3. Love

This one had it all. These two are friends that quickly became my family and they found love in each other. To say I am giddy about this union is the understatement of the century. Here’s a little background to this whirlwind romance.

Austin grew up with my husband, is cousins with my cousin’s family, his mom worked with my mom for decades, and the list goes on. Kristin is the sweetest angel on the planet and entered my life through a mutual friend when I was desperately seeking a friend group in town. She radiates kindness, is so genuine and doesn’t hate a good time.

One night, my husband and I prodded Austin to meet up with us after we went to dinner to be his wingmen and so he could meet some of my new friends. Austin quickly pulled me aside and asked for all the deets on my friend Kristin. I explained I adored her but she was currently dating someone. He digested that intel and then went about his business. For about a year.

Fast forward to when I learned Kristin was back on the market. My friend Ann and I went straight to work playing matchmaker with two of our favorite people. I sent John to Austin to feel out any interest levels on the newly single lady and Ann casually mentioned Austin to Kristin to gauge any potential feelings. Well, we blinked and Kristin was swept off to her first date with Austin and they’ve been the perfect match ever since.

This August, Kristin celebrated her 30th birthday with an epic surprise party complete with family, friends and THEIR ENGAGEMENT. So much crying happened from all of us. (You know HillyLily was there to document it all! See the play-by-play here.)

Austin and Kristin, so happy you are forever stuck with us and I couldn’t be more excited for your futures together.
