Good Things Come in Pairs

As if I couldn’t love this family any more, they had to go and bring two of the most beautiful and sweetest little girls into this world to complete the void we didn’t even know was there. Remember this fun couple’s session around the University of Florida campus with the big surprise announcement that Ann and Andrew were pregnant with twins? Fast forward a few months and we headed to the farm for some peak golden hour maternity shots.

Little did we know, the girls wanted an early debut to this world and made their grand entrance on January 7th, 2018, weighing in at 4lbs, 8oz and 3lbs, 12oz. Monroe and Emery were so quick to steal everyone’s hearts and I felt so privileged to be able to capture some of their beauty at their home a couple of weekends ago.

"The best part of this journey has been finding an instant love(s) and feeling so proud that we created such perfect little humans. We find ourselves just staring at them in awe!" - Ann

The first few weeks at home with a new baby are never easy. Multiply that by two and my interest is peaked. Here is an inside look at life with newborn twins followed by just a few of my favorites from this special session.

HL: What was it like delivering a baby and then knowing you had a whole other baby to go? A: It was awesome! My adrenaline was pumping and I was in the zone! Baby A was so tiny and such a breeze getting out so I was nothing but excited to get Baby B out! HL: So far, what’s been the biggest challenge of being a new parent? A: Finding the time to sleep 🙃 HL: Do you and Andrew have designated jobs or do you tag team it as you go? A: We tag team as we go--we both do everything and switch off duties naturally. When one person looks like a zombie, the other picks up the slack. HL: On average, how many diapers do you think you go through in 24 hours? A: Oh goodness, maybe 30? Let's just say, A LOT. HL: What is your most used baby gadget that you can’t live without? A: The three that have been soooo helpful are the Fisher-Price Newborn Rock 'n Play Sleeper, Munchkin® Bright & Warm Wipe Warmer, and Munchkin Steam Guard Microwave Bottle Sterilizer. We also obviously love our diaper pail! HL: What’s been the best part of this new journey? A: Finding an instant love(s) and feeling so proud that we created such perfect little humans. We find ourselves just staring at them in awe! HL: What do you look forward to most in the next year? A: Every day! Watching them change and grow--we will all learn new things!
